Online Shopping Sites

I use to like buying a lot of things online in Australia, and there are dozens of e-stores. I'm trying to find similar sites that deliver to Hong Kong, but am coming up pretty empty handed. Does anyone know of any (other than ebay.hk)? Right now I'm looking for some kitchenware.

Some of HK's department stores have online shops.

Wing On

And then places like Fortress, for appliances etc.

HK is definitely not a great place for online shopping. I used to do the same as you when we lived in the US. Here, I hunt.

As Slammy mentions, some stores have online sections, for example Fortress. Still, I'd rather go inperson. You tend to get more for your money that way. HK store clerks at a place like Fortress beat "Western" clerks at a place like Best Buy any day. They really know their stuff. More importantly, they will suggest specials and offers if they are pertinent.

For kitchenware (in person):

- Panhandler. Prince's Building.

- Wing-On basement.

- Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei for excellent prices on some items like woks.

Online Food:

- http://www.aussieorganics.com. Weekly delivery of vegetables and fruit. Also a limited but good quality selection of fish and seafood.

- http://www.south-stream-seafoods.com/store/index.html. Mostly fish.

- https://www.meatmarket.com.hk. Mostly meat.

Online books and DVDs:

- www.bookdepository.co.uk - "Free" delivery from the UK to HK. My fave.

Thanks for the tips. I just browsed Fortress online, and it does seem that the prices are better in person. Plus you can always negotiate. I'm still interested in any other sites people may know of, but looks like I need to search on foot.

Wing On appear to offer special internet prices... but in a place like HK, we get so much cheap junk from China that it's better to actually go and SEE what you want to buy, to make sure it's actually good quality!
