employee compensation payment

KFJ, what exactly is the cheque for? Is it for salary or indeed for worker's compensation? Employees compensation cheques would normally be paid from the insurance companies which cover your employer, not directly from your employer. It's probably best to speak to a lawyer. You can sign a letter to acknowledge receipt of your money, but reserve your rights to sue later. And don't sign anything regarding liability.
