hair straightening gone wrong?

can anyone advise on this please?

I got my medium length asian hair cut, straightened and coloured a few days ago at a reputable salon in cwb.

this is the 2nd time i've got it straightened and it seems that my hair is nice and straight at the top. the bottom half doesn't feel so smooth and looks a bit frizzed and seems to be getting itself tangled easily - does this mean the hair is damaged or that the straightening hasn't worked?

they left the treatment on the top half for about 10-15 minutes and for the bottom half a maximum 1 minute and washed it out, ironed, another solution, washed and then coloured.

overall the texture isn't great and not soft. They cut my hair first to cut off all the dry ends so i'm not sure why hair has turned out like this.

Any advice out there?

How about... when you wash your hair, does it feel really dry and gets tangled easily? Maybe that can give you a clue as to whether it's too dry. You can also look to see if you have split ends.

If it's not dry though... then you should go back to the salon and they should redo it for free.

Also, you should be careful doing the color and straightening at the same time. What kind of color did you get? If you used bleach to make your hair lighter, you are already damaging your hair. I've been told by hair dressers that they usually don't like to straighten hair that's been colored a lot - as it's easily damaged.

Did they give you any special conditioner products you can use?

I use this product called np +1. neoprocess hair treatment.

It's a Japanese product - you can just use a tiny bit and rub through your hair after washing and conditioning, and use it as a leave-in conditioner.

Here's a link so you can see what the orange tube looks like. I bought it in some Sasa shops and some hair shops in HK.

A reputable hairdresser would never straighten and colour at the same time. It is recommended to leave at least 2 weeks between those processes.

On top of it they should have not have straightened the already straightened hair. They have basically double processed it - that happened to me a few years back (also done by a 'reputable' salon).

The Japanese conditioning product recommended above is great and will help to an extend.

It's dreadful, I know...

The only thing you can do now is condition, condition and condition some more - you need to cut it or let it grow out...

I would definitely go back to complain, but I can assure you that another straightening process will only damage it more

well I washed my hair today as they advised me not to wash it for 3 days. the result it the same - frizzier than normal and look is dry. I'm really annoyed they've damaged my hair if that is the case. The back ends are the worst but no split ends (yet).

I had highlights and base colour they didn't think it was a problem to do colour and straighten as same time.

It appears that there are different segments all over that are more frizzier and parts of my hair is how it should be smooth and silky. They cut it again after it was straightened as I complained about why it wasn't straight - the guy said it was dry hair which I disagreed as he had cut off a good few inches before so shouldn't have had any.

I will go back as I paid a fortune for it - alhough not sure what they will do as obvously doing it again will damage it further.

Maybe you can insist they give you a free conditioning treatment, seeing as though if it's damaged by them, there's not much they can do now. Of course, if they cut off a lot, then it wouldn't have been dry in the first place. So must be that they caused it.
