Hi,
We're going to the Holiday Inn, Phuket, with our 19-month old daughter. I'm wondering what to do about food.
Has anyone stayed at this hotel and could they provide pureed food for a toddler?
I'm wondering if I should pack our hand blender, because my daughter will not swallow food that hasn't been blended. She'll pick it up and chew it and then spit it out again.
We usually feed her home-made congee with meat and vegies / she loves pasta and noodles. We always give her fruit - but once again, it has to be steamed and then pureed.
My husband always gives me a hard time, saying I overpack when we go on holiday and I know he'll say the same if I try to take the blender and food warmer. Am I overpacking?
I don't really want to feed her the baby jar food all the time because - well, she's supposed to be too old for that now.

Easier than bringing the hand blender:
Assuming the room has a small freezer, you can blend the food before you leave and pour it into empty baby food jars and freeze it. Then pack that in a thermal bag (HK$ 50 at Wing-On) with a couple of ice blocks ($15 each at Wing-on) and put it in your luggage.
That's what we did. ;)
Also, and not to be seem too tough, your daughter will never learn unless you stop pandering to her desire for blended food. Better to get the transition done before the holiday than after.

Yes, in fact, I'm starting to get concerned about her not eating food that's been cut up and just chewing and then spitting it out.
I'll search the forums and if I still need advice, I think I need to create a new thread about what to do to get my child off the blended food!
