Any idea what happened to Cru in Soho? seems kind of odd that a successful restaurant would close or change concepts. I have not yet tried Allora, but the "grandma" overhead lighting and paper napkins does little so far to entice!

The last thing I heard was that the landlord raised the rent enormously and that Cru is about to relocate.
I am sure the friendly guys in Jaspas can give you more info as they belong to the same group.

Many thanks for feedback and in that case the greedy Landlord lost a very good tenant! Also Cru is sadly missed. Hope they will reopen somewhere in Soho again soon

I hope so too. I often took clients in there for lunch as their set lunch was great value and plenty of it

Cru will reopen shortly further west on Hollywood road I have been told. I will try to find the exact location. It was the "greedy landlord" that caused the old location to close!

Great looking forward to the real Cru being up and running again in Soho. I will try Allora despite bright granny style light fittings and paper napkins. They may well need the business, as I wandered by late last week, the place only had a few dinners and staff where "spruiking" to me as I went by! (Would never had seen that at Cru). Cru had a nice feeling about it and a good following, so Allora will have to work hard to bring the crowd back.
