Cancel Now TV

ORIGINAL POST

We are leaving Hong Kong in about 1 month and we still have over 1 year on our Now TV contract. Obviously I don't want to pay for nothing for the remaining time on the contract.

Has anyone an idea how to get out of the contract? I'm thinking to simply return the PCCW equipment, explain them the situation and refuse to pay.

Thanks in advance for your help!

you could advertise it here in the Classified/Internet & Cable contracts section...

It does pose a kind of moral dilemma, on one hand a contract has been entered into so technically its valid and you have a moral obligation. However, as its with PCCW/NOW, they have little to no morals anyway! Just had back the box / equipment and walk if you are leaving HK there is nothing they can do. Also yes the good alternative is to have someone take over the service for you and you can advertise this.

Sometimes there is a cancellation clause in the contract fine print that gives you the option of giving a certain period (30 or 60 days) of WRITTEN notice to end the contract if you are leaving. Check yours! But more often that not you can't get out of it & have to just cancel the DD or payments when you leave!
