I'm looking for an oversized piece of wood (about 3-4m x 2m) for use as a large communal work table in a new office. It will sit on trestles, so just the table top is needed. Strong, cheap and industrial in feel would be great. Any ideas (and any ideas on likely price too) would be gratefully received!

If it helps, I'm thinking of industrial-looking waferboard, or maybe plywood. It will have computers and files sitting on it, so the surface would have to be approximately desk-like (or I guess I could put a perspex cover on it). Look forward to everyone's ideas and suggestions!

If you're looking for plywood, try the lumber yard on Queen's Road East, opposite the old Wan Chai Market (close to Hopewell Center). They have some nice looking pieces.
