What did you do or would do when you find something in a cab/bus?

I've found 2 things left on public transports lately. One was a coin purse on a cab with no identification and only a few coins in it. I handed it to the driver who said it belonged to a student that took the cab before me and that he will return it. Today I found another coin purse but with an octopus card in it and a little bit of money in a mini bus. Again it also had to identification on it. I might bring it to the end stop tomorrow and maybe the guy in charge will put it in some lost and found box?? Do such things exist? I have seen them put up a sign though that said "found: HK ID and octopus card, claim here".

What do you guys do when you find things like this? My husband has left a wallet and his IPhone on the cab in the past and both times he miraculously got them back due to kind souls out there. I want to do whats right since I know the relief of having things returned when all hope is lost.

Should I just hand these things to the drivers and hope they will do what's right or just not bother? Want to know what your take on this is. Thanks.

i would def. make an effort to get it back to the owner. for Octopus, you could try contacting Octopus Customer Service...if the card is registered with Octopus Rewards, they should have at least an email address to contact...
