Am looking to buy a used car that has been off the road for some time. Does anyone know what happens with the license in that case? Do I need to pay for all the time it hasn't been on the road? Is there some sort of "fine" incurred? I think the time period is like 6 or 8 months since the license has expired. thanks.

If you can be sure that it has been off the road then you can apply on the veh lic renewal to waive the back tax. Be warned that if they find out that it was used then you may be liable for a criminal offence.
