I was meant to go to Bangkok with my 10 year old daughter the weekend the protests began. Since, Cathay has let me postpone the trip 3 times, but each time only for a few weeks. We are now booked to go on the 11th of June, 2 weeks from now. How safe is it now? How bad is town with so much burned down? Is there anywhere I should definitely avoid with my little one if we have to go??? We were planning a shopping trip to all the markets, etc. If anyone help, please let me know! Thanks!

I heard it's going to be guerilla warfare/riots in different pockets of bangkok. check the local news. Is it true that the Thai tourism board is offering 30000 free air tickets?

I think all those are just rumors. There is nothing going on in Bangkok. It is definitely safe to travel there. We just don't know how many tourists do fly there? The violence is only where it is happening. Bangkok is so big so its not everywhere. Simply avoid going to the places where the protesters are gathering. As long as the airport operates in my opinion Bangkok is safe to visit.

I'm sure it is safe to travel to bangkok if you avoid the hotspot areas where there are protests.
