i am back home in minnesota usa. i believe i will return to shanghai as an ins agent. i was just wonderin if there is anyone in this kind of field that could tell me about some licensing issues i may need to satisfy. i finished taking a licensing course and if/when i pass mn licensing test i will be licensed to sell "life, accident & health" ins. and according to the course i took; i can sell ins abroad but only to US passport holders that i am licensed to sell in their home state.
so, being that i will have a business operation in shanghai. so i will need a shanghai business license. right?
i know there are other US insurance companies and/or agents in shanghai. so if i need a license for all 50 states how do i do that? or have i been misinformed?

As far as I anm aware if you are selling insurance in Shanghai (or anywhere else in China for that matter) you need to be licensed by the regulatory body. I am not sure how that will work if you are not working for a company that does business in China.
