How to bring Newborn from HK to Macau

Hi,

I am due to give birth in HK in one month but I live in Macau. I have a french passport, and a 3 star HK permanent ID. Does anyone know how I can get baby back to Macau to be with her daddy asap? How long does the hospital take to send the document to the birth registry, and what will I need to go through immigration in HK and Macau? I've gone through the gov website but can't make much sense of it.

Help please!

Hi,

I would guess that you need a passport...? I just gave birth here in HK and it takes about 2 weeks to be able to get birth certificate from the registry office.

I know for our baby we have had to apply for Australian citizenship (takes 2 weeks) and then apply for Aus passport (takes another 2 weeks). After that I guess her passport will have to go to HK immigration for the Visa stuff too, which hubby's company should do in a day or two. As a result of all this, we have not booked any travel until after all that has happened.

I'm not sure if travel to macau would be seen differently, but I would have thought you would need identity docs for baby before you travel.

Good luck getting that done quickly!
