Not sure this is the correct place to ask this question but here goes.....


I am a British citizen living in Hk and am going back to the UK for the summer and need to hire a car. I can only find the new pink credit card style driving licence and not the original green paper type. Has anyone hired a car in the UK and had any problems with their driving licence. Am getting a bit worried about not having both parts. Really appreciate some help. I have submitted enquiry to DVLA but just wondered if anyone could reply ahead of waiting for DVLA response.

It should be no problem with your pink credit style licence, it has your photo on it,

We have one also, and have hired cars in Uk and Spain since living here inHk

Try the ones you can pick up at airport, if you ggogle car hire Heathrow you should find a lot.

I rent Avis and Hertz cars at Heathrow and twice in the last five years I have been asked to produce the paper part of my licence as well as the card.
