My DVD player would soemtimes go "disc error" on some dvds I bought. But when played on my friend's players, it is ok.
do i need my dvd fixed? Its an LG brand, used only for like 4 years. But why is it that some of my dvd's play ok in same unit??

Yours is probably region locked while your friend's is not. DVDs are typically locked to the region they are sold in, and so are players. Players can typically be unlocked. Check the region code on the DVDs to see if this hypothesis is correct.
To unlock your player, google "unlock" plus the exact model number. Often a simple code entered on the remote will unlock the player. Unlocking is the same as setting to Region "0".

Sometimes the disc itself is defective. Clean the disc with a microfibre cloth, put the disc in and out of tray a few times and you may get lucky.
