Hi guys, I recall reading similar threads in the past but the search function doesn't seem to be functioning correctly and I cant dig it up. Can anyone recommend some trails for hiking with a 5 year old in HK? Preferably <60m.

Thanks in advance.

There are many:

- Path around the Peak.

- From Wan Chai Gap down to Aberdeen.

- Dragon's Back.

- Most parts of the Hong Kong trail.

My friend's son did The Twins at four, and that's a TOUGH hike, so don't worry if he complains a little. ;)

mount parker road, though uphill all the way from Quarry Bay, is not too difficult...stop at the bbq site halfway up for bathroom/snack break, and there's a playground at Quarry Gap

The walk around the Peak is a good start. Keep the kid hydrated, especially at this time of year. Start with easy walks, and build up a bit if he/she enjoys it.

Start at Park View and head down to Tai Tam reservoir. It is a good starter as it is basically down hill all the way.

Alternative is to take the Lamma ferry. You can then walk over the island to the other ferry pier and ferry back. Depending which way round you do it you can either start or finish at one of the restaurants for some lunch.

My youngest two both did Parkview to Stanley over the twins when they were five with no problems. They still love hiking (and running) the trails.
