For family with kids or group of adults, I recommend Karma. Each villa has private pool. The resort has excellent kid's club and stunning restaurants. If you prefer beachfront villa, I can direct you to the four bedroom beach villa there, it has superb views, and large rooms. All villas are part of the 5-star hotel. In my opinion the best family friendly resort in Koh Samui is Centara Grand Beach resort, the only 5 stars hotel on South Chaweng beach. It`s a luxury hotel, but the money are worth the stay.
