Moving to Sai Kung

Hi all, thinking of moving to somewhere like Giverny or Capri in Sai Kung area. Any views on driving time (car) to Central leaving at around 7-7.30am? From Giverny I think we'd take Hiram's Highway route. From Capri I heard there wan another route that might quicker.

Thanks Cara, do you ever take the central tunnel as the most direct route or is the traffic too grim for that? I assume your 45 min drive is during rush hour. Would you say your place is in the same neck of the woods as Capri?

Hi Cara and Dive, we live in Sai Kung Country Park too (Tsam Chuk Wan). Just moved here for a month and loving it!! Sai Sha Road is much quicker and the road is so quite! We never use central tunnel. We usually use East Tunnel.

Hi Chilli, how quick is much quicker and is that at 7.30ish rush hour? Thanks. I like the Eastern Tunnel - much cheaper than the Western!

Yes Exactly. As from Sai Kung Country Park Side, you will have to drive 20 mins to Hiram Highway. I would say about 15 mins quicker? Personally, I much prefer sai kung country park side...less traffic here than Giverny part. I have only started exploring Sai Kung 2 weeks ago. Found a beauty shop I like. Tried Ling's Massage. Still looking for home visit massage though!

Hi Dive Bum - we looked at Capri around March time thought they were really reasonable priced and were really being pushed by the agents but found out later that some of the houses had problems with the pools because of subsidence and were leaking water also the electicity bills are very high as the pool pumps are run all year round so can work out expensive, as we are paying our own bills we decided to find something else.

I have just signed a lease at Capri. Should have done my diligence properly as I did not know about any of the problems mentioned by Cassy. Oh well, I will report back on how things turn out.

From the Giverny to Central would be 45 mins max at that time of day.

You would not go through Sai Kung-head the other way on Hiram's Hwy, through the Po Lam tunnel and then Eastern Tunnel. Easy drive.

I lived at the Capri for 2 years and had no problems with my pool. We had some issues with the A/C units, but was eventually resolved
