Hi, I will be heading to Phuket in 2 weeks time for a holiday. Could someone recommend me any brands of shades that are pretty but hardy?

try some prominent brands like ray-ban aviators or oakleys. i think oakleys are pretty rugged

I'd also say Oakley's. Or if you are around central, there's a optician/sunglasses place opposite H&M. They have lots of good brand and can change the lens to suit your needs.
