No real advantage no. Online or at DG Lifestyle (the official distributor) stores works as well as Fortress.


Apple has no discounts. Ever.

axptguy 38 is right. Apple never give out discounts. Ever. However, we have bought a number of macs over the years from DG. The products are the same price everywhere..... But they will "upgrade" certain things. And broadway sometimes give promotional items aways. So, good luck.

From retail stores you may find there are either gifts or promotions not available direct from Apple, i.e. Flash drives (although these are sometimes super cheap throw away ones) and credit deals - I noticed Fortress in Po Lam yesterday were doing a slight discount on the 27" with 24 month terms for BOC credit card holders.


Apple store does have the refurbished items as well which can offer quite substantial discounts so that is always a route worth looking at.

You'll need a new antivirus program. I don't know of any free antivirus packages (like AVG or Avast for PC) for Mac but I assume there are some.


BTW some people will tell you Macs don't get viruses. Don't believe them.

I use MacKeeper as anti virus software. It also comes with loads of other features and you can find discount codes for it if you look around on the net.
