hi,
my baby is 5 months old- I have 10 days off in 3rd week of spt, and want to plan and book a good vacation- any ideas for a baby friendly trip? dont want to do usual southeast asia circuit..

At this age, your baby won't care where he/she is so it is mostly about you being comfortable. I wouldn't go anyplace where you have to handle a lot of logistics (clean, cook, etc). So how about a nice resort? Kota Kinabalu, Samui, Bali, Phuket?

japan is a very baby/kid friendly place.
most dept stores and malls have large nursery rooms for changing, and feeding baby.
even without, most washrooms have large change tables/ mats.
big big big plus: it's a very clean place!

One thing to consider about Japan though, is that there are stairs everywhere so it's difficult to push a stroller around.
At 5 months of age, I don't think your baby would be doing a great deal! I would just go somewhere that you want to go that's easy to fly to, is clean, hotel is stroller-friendly. Your baby will be happy just checking out the new surroundings and spending quality time with his/her parents.

i think japan will be a good place. the air is clean and the level of hygiene is high, which is good for little babies.

Babies survive all over regardless of so called "level of hygiene". Don't be afraid of going somewhere less than clinically clean.

first off, lose the stroller and take a Bjorn style carrier or sling...at 5 months it's the best way to get around (use one that lies flat across your chest if necessary)
