mother going into care

My Mother in the UK has MS and at the moment is having 3 home helps per day come into her, her condition is getting worse and in the next few months will have to have full time care, she agrees with us but is holding on due to money.

What she is worried about is all her money she has will be taken to pay for this, the home near her house is 700 pounds per week.

Does any one have any advise on lawyers etc to help her protect her money etc

I've heard she can gift 5000 pounds only, without investigation.

Any advise would be great.

Thanks

Rachel

Why don't you fly her out here. She can probably live as your dependent (if she's over a certain age) and you can employ a maid to help her whilst you work. much cheaper in HK.

I've thought about that but she has so many medical things wrong with her i'm not sure if Hong Kong could cope.

The UK is pretty good when you are very sick.

Also she likes her little bungalow and the English way of life, I think the heat also would be too much for her as she has a heart condition.

She on tablets for everything.

Thanks for the thought.
