I'm flying long-haul with my baby soon and was hoping to check in my car seat as I don't want to have to lug it to the gate.
Knowing how brutal baggage handlers can be, whats the best way to protect it from getting bashed about in the hold?
Is there a bag available? Any ideas?
Thanks!

check it in as fragile and there should be limited damage.

Some car seats have optional bags. However a plastic garbage bag should do fine. We've done both, as well as "naked" and never had an issue.
Things aren't really bashed about in the hold. Cargo and luggage is securely tied down with netting or in containers. The danger is in handling, but the vast majority of luggage handlers will treat car seats and strollers better than any old bag. Not saying much I suppose but still. ;)
