Does anyone know of a bank or credit card supplier in HK that offers cards which are officially recognized as US credit cards, not HK? I'm interested in this for online shopping, specifically for ebook websites, iTunes and such, where what you can buy is dictated by where your credit card is from. Someone told me AmEx works this way, but AmEx deny it.

It's not AmEx that is the problem. They don't care. It's that many US websites only take US credit cards for fraud prevention reasons.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that to get a US credit card you will need a US address.
- iTunes. The HK store is not as good but at least it is there.
- Amazon. Have you tried the UK site?
- Dead tree books. Use www.bookdepository.co.uk. Free shippiong to HK.
