Podcast

Is there any way I can download podcasts from the BBC, say onto a memory stick, and get a car radio which has a USB port for it to be plugged into.

I get dreadful reception on the car radio where I live and for miles around and I was thinking that it might be possible to listen to stuff, BBC and the like, while I'm driving by downloading podcasts.

Is this possible or does have anyone have any suggestions/advice on how to get around this? Thanks in anticipation.

Yes indeed. There is lots of good BBC podcast material on iTunes (5 live Kermode/Mayo movie reviews being my fav). Subscribe and down load and then it is in mp3 format on your hard drive. Little mp3 players and iPods are cheap these days. iPod is more seamless than anything else (others you have to drop and drop files). If car stereo is older and has a cassette player, there are adaptors that slot in and connect to the mp3 player. If not, and no Aux input, could try the FM transmitter adaptor which picks a blank station - sounds like you have plenty of those. I never got the transmitter to work well in HK (perhaps because Japanese radio spectrum).

Got an iphone? If you have you can get get the app ' Tune in radio' You can listen to every live radio show, podcasts and old shows over wifi or 3G. I use everyday on the MTR. best app for music in my opinion.

Hope this helps

Many thanks for the advice and information. I bought a Cassette-type device from a shop in Ap Liu Street for HKD48. The shopkeeper knew exactly what I was after.

I will pursue the i-phone function next.
