Flying to Brazil soon, is tere a place or a bank that can prepare for me R$ (BRL) in cash?
If not, do money changrs accept HK$ overthere? or should I prepare US$?

I would go to a place like HSBC Main Building and ask.

HSBC won't have it. I've tried with a couple of Latin American currencies and they just don't stock it (they didn't even know the country I was travelling to!). Best bet is to change your cash once you get there (or wherever you stopover for your connecting flights since you won't be flying direct) and the rates will be better than what you would get here. Always have USD on you for that part of the world, sometimes you can pay with it instead of the local currency. I would be very surprised if they changed HKD. Asian currencies don't really cut it over there.

Even Berlin Company Exchange does not carry this currency
I guess that I will have to change USD locally in Sao Paulo...

Why don't you just bring 200-500 USD and then use your credit card for the hotels and ATM card to get local currency? You normally get better rates with an ATM card than money changers.

The issue with that is the he would have to exchange twice. HKD->USD->BRL. And thus paying fees twice.

When I was in Rio de Janeiro, I took tripadvisors.com's advice and used bank cards and credit cards.
Not sure where in particular you're heading, but there are plenty bank branches in Rio (one major bank every block in Ipanema and downtown). For about USD$5-10 transaction fee, it's the safest route to go. I would suggest going to the ATM's during day-time only for safety reasons. I believe you can use major bank cards at Citibank and Banco do Brasil ATMs. HSBC is also there but much less prominent. Have a good trip!
