So you only have an EPS card right? And this is what you can't use in the bars and clubs. AFAIK Maestro card is a UK system.


You can get a visa from HSBC, thus avoiding the overseas charges.


As far as I know EPS and credit card are pretty much it from HK banks.

My guess is that EPS has lower transaction costs for everyone than a card with attached Visa or MC.

I'm sure they do. However those people as a market probably don't represent enough potential income for the bank to implement a new system.
