Hi guys, the swiss bank i want to open an account in wants me to do this:
"Certified/notarized/authenticated copy of an ID card or passport containing a clearly visible signature and photo of the account holder, for the beneficial owner and authorized signatories. (In all countries certification may be performed by a public notary or Public Entity: police station, ministry of justice, ministry of the interior or town hall). Original of the certified copy) must be provided!"
Ok, no problem, so I called the local police station, they won't do it, then I called my bank, they won't do it, then I called the immigration dept. they do something but it takes a ridiculous 10 days to do.
I haven't certified anything in HK so does anyone have any suggestions who I can call to do this where I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it plus a fast process to do it.
Thanks

Your bank should do this for a small fee of around HK$100/150, but that was a number of years ago. I doubt that they have withdrawn this service so I suggest you go to the bank branch where your relationship manager is and ask him/her because that's how I got a certified copy of my passport made when I needed it. (They may not have understood you properly on the phone).
They can make a certified copy of your ID while you wait.

Hi chris_in_hk, thanks for helping.
My bank is HSBC and I asked again but they said no.
Also, its 20 days from immigration not 10 day as I put before.
Not sure where to turn now :(
