I just returned to HK from Europe and brought back my collection of old photos. One of these old photos is most likely Marilyn Monroe (nude upper body) taken probably in the 1940's but I'm not sure it's 100% percent her. However there is a stamp name on the back of the photo and after searching this name on the internet this person is indeed linked to Marilyn Monroe. What's the best way to authenticate it?

Wow. That sounds fascinating. I did recall that Ms. Monroe was in the first issue of Playboy. She was, in fact, the very first "playmate", although they weren't called that then. Some googling led me to the fact that the nude picture used was taken in 1949.
The only place I know that might be a starting point is Picture This. Talk to Chris Bailey (one of the owners). He has a lot of in depth knowledge on this sort of thing. At least he can probably point you in the right direction.
