Hi all,

Any suggestion on a moving company to use in HK (so withing HK) that both speaks english and can do a full service (including packing though this will probably be optional).

Thanks in advance.

Try a quote from Santa Fe - they are the leading moving company in Asia and a long time supporter of this site http://www.asiaxpat.com/movingquote/

Try FTC Logistics. 2988 1994. They have moved me a couple of times and I have found them to be a good price and efficient. The staff are Indian or Nepalese so English is good, so no communication issues. In fact they are moving me again this week!

I'll chime in with ETC. Good service and good price. Santa Fe are truly fantastic but... Well I'll let you compare prices.

Do keep an eye on them though for the really sensitive stuff. They are very careful but are a bit lost on "advanced" stuff like how to properly fold a Persian rug .

Then again I would keep an eye on any movers with the exception of the amazing crew we had in London.

Hi AXPT and NGarret, did you pack yourself or you got ETC to pack for you?

Thanks.

Guys, what about disposal? Do the moving companies handle that as well? For example some of my furniture wont fit in the new place (or it will fit but take too much room) how can I get rid of it without taking it apart myself and toting it down 58 floors to the collex in the parking lot.

Thanks.

For used furniture - most will dispose of it for you, just let them know beforehand and the will include it in the quote. Just don't spring it on the day of your move and hope to get a freebie. Santa Fe are great for intl moves because of the service and logistics involved. I used them on a move to Paris. But for local moves they are no competitive - I have experience where their quotes were 50% higher than local movers who also pack and unpack.
