I need some guidelines.

When do you take your kids to the hospital if they are 5 and 2, especially in the middle of the night?

Unless it is something really really dramatic, we call our doctor's paging service. Much better for her to decide whether we should get to the hospital than to go without it being necessary.

If the fever is over 40 C and ibuprofen doesn't bring it down, I guess we might go. But we would still call her first.
