sponsor change

Hi,

I got my working visa last month.

At that time, my company was really in need for my nationality for business with my home country...and that was why they could not hire local one, and of course that is why my visa has been approved.

Only one month later, I learned that my company is establishing branch in my home country, and hire local people there. This means they do not need me any more in HK, and highly likely they would fire me.

Now my question is...would sponsor change be approved only one month after I got work visa (of course I will ask my current company to write down the reason). Any other worries...?

If someone had the same experience before, could you share with me?

Thanks!

As far as I am aware a 'sponsor change' as such does not exist. Any new employer will need to apply for a new visa for you which will be treated on its own merits. As for your existing visa on terminating your employment your employer has an obligation to inform Immigration who will then note that in their records.
