I don't suppose the family from DB that bought a (South African brand) four-burner gas barbecue on 8th July from Horizon Plaza, Ap Le Chau at the same time as us will see this, but here's hoping: Are you happy with it? Or have you had any problems, such as i) rust appearing on the side burner from Day Two and, very importantly, ii) it not reaching a high enough temperature (struggling to get to 580 degrees) which means it doesn't cook steaks properly like the old Weber used to? We have raised these two issues with the store and they say we are the only ones to experience them.

Do you have lava rocks above the flames? that may be the problem if not.

Thanks for your suggestion but the problem has been confirmed as faulty burners (and design flaw - massive aperture at the back allows heat to escape, even when BBQ is sited up against a wall).
