Legal right on changing design of a window of a apartment

Pls advise. Does a developer has a right to request an owner to change the design of apartment windows back to the original design.

Hi,

if are you talking about an individual flat(apartment) ownership' well check your contract agreement with the developer. there are certain regulations that you cannot just simply change/remove/alter, with out the permission of the developer.

Hi,

We live in a block of apartment where most of the owners has since changed the design of the windows. Could they sue us? I bought this place 2 years back with the windows already changed. Why the developer take the legal right now.

yes they can sue you. in fact the building department is actively targeting certain areas where many people have made unlawful changes to the design (especially windows and balconies) and is issuing orders to reverse the change.

Developer would like to reverse all windows to just a few designs in order to regulate changes for future renovations> They said its their right to maintain the whole outlook of the. Question is that alone has already made changes to the whole outlook of the building. If changes does not post danger and i am beutifying to upgrade the place have i done wrong?
