So, I've moved into a new apartment recently and when I first moved in, I told the landlord three times that I was unhappy with the security of the glass doors in the back of my home. I live on the first floor so someone can easily climb over the fence and the glass doors' lock are not very strong. I asked him to put in extra locks or at least come take a look. He said he would come over or call me back, but never did. I told him three times. Finally, earlier this week, someone broke through those doors and stole some of our belongings. I know that back at home in the States, the landlord will be held responsible at least for a partial compensation for the items stolen because we told him about the problem, but he failed to do anything about it. Can you tell me if there is a similar Chinese law? What can I do? Thank you so much for your help!
