Ed, please screen the property listings thoroughly and ban those who use such unethical means as it is wasting all our time. I use asiaxpat alot including property hunting and I have encountered many incidences involving bogus ads - the listings do not exist and the property that I was brought to see is different from what is listed. Today, I had the most unpleasant episode with Fortune Land Properties. They have about 20 listings under Clearwater Bay / Saikung area but when I called and spoke to Simon, he said only 5 are available and out of which 3 are not on asiaxpat. I asked how about the 20+ he listed in the past week and he said they are gone. I asked how could they be gone so quickly unless they are listed just as a bait to entice buyers and he got defensive. When I asked to see the 5 properties he had, he said he does not wish to show them to me! Is there any authority in HK where I can lodge a complaint against this agency? Ed - please ban him!!!!

If you encounter such ads please hit the Report Abuse option on the listing - we then warn the agency that they must delete the ad and if they continue to post inaccurate listings we terminate their membership

Thanks for this - when we relaunch the sites we are going to look at adding a new section (separate from share flats) that allows these people to post low cost rooms that are not necessarily share flats.
For the moment we will leave them in share flats as I think that they are relevant to people looking for low cost accommodation.
