Hollywood is having a hard time deciding if Netflix (NFLX) is friend or foe. The fast-growing movie service has already helped drive DVD retailer Blockbuster (BBI) to the brink of Chapter 11. Now, Netflix is poised to take on premium cable giants like HBO and Showtime.

Blockbuster isn't so much a DVD retailer as a DVD (originally VHS) rental chain. Anyway, Blockbuster had to eliminate late fees just to compete. Netflix is a brilliant idea, and definitely part of our future media landscape.


Of course iTunes has its place too.


It's very odd how the entertainment industry seems to have learned so little since Napster. Embrace technologies you morons. It's about getting the content to the consumer in a way the consumer likes and that makes you money. That's the only rule.
