Tung Chung to North Point?

ORIGINAL POST

Hi all,

Recently moved to Tung Chung. Any recomendations on getting from Tunc Chung to North Point/Quarry Bay?

I used the train and that took 90m from Tung Chung to Quarry Bay. On the way home I used a taxi to central than train and that was a little faster. Any other suggestions on ways I can improve the time short of getting a car? Like a direct bus perhaps from Tung Chung? Or Kowloon to NP/Quarry Bay MTR area?

Thanks.

90mins on the train? really? that must include walking from home to the train, since the MTR website pegs Tung Chung to QB at 50mins (and they are usually pretty accurate).

you could try E11 from Fu Tung Shopping ctr to Tin Hau mtr, then train/bus from there, but i can't really see anything being faster than train...unless you taxi the whole way.....

I agree. I would have thought train all the way would be best, altho that doesn't trake into account distances from MTR stations at start/finish. Taxis can be faster, but they are subject to traffic fluctuations that trains are not. You can check bus routes on line - enter starting & finishing points and it will suggest routes for you.

Check out the local bus home sites, easy to use.

still can't see it beating the train, as you avoid all traffic/weather related issues...solomani, just to be clear, your train trip was tung chung line to central, island line to quarry bay right?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. To be clear 90m was door to door and it included my whole family (so kids slow you down of course). Will go solo this weekend and see how long it takes and also try the E11.
