I was wondering if these adorable dogs are available in HK.

Any idea?

There are certainly a few around. I don't think there are breeders in HK though. Those I have met have been imported from Australia.

On a side note, I would never get a dog from HK with the exception of a rescue dog. Too many "bad" breeders and shops.

I think you just need to go into the many pet shops around to see how the animals are crammed into small cages with barely a towel let alone a blanket or food & drink to make that assumption. I would suggest that you read sally's daily blog on the HK Dog Rescue site to hear of the many sad stories that involve breeders & pet shops. The SPCA & the dog rescue have spoodles & doodles from time to time. A friend of mine got an adorable spoodle from the SPCA. On buying from a pet shop in HK do be very careful as you could end up paying a rather large sum of money for a very sick animal.

Bruce92, if you read my post again you will see that I didn't say "all" shops and breeders are bad. I said "too many".

I refer you to JJChan's post which perfectly summarizes my feelings about the "average" pet shop in HK.

If you have information about responsible breeders and pet shops in HK, I am eager to hear it.

Have a look www.hongkongdogrescue.com and take a look at Sally's Blog today, a small snippett from today as follows:

The Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre is really proving to be very popular, and as a concept I think it should be used throughout Hong Kong so that pet shops will become obsolete. So many adopters come to us with the same old story: “I bought a puppy from a pet shop but it died”, but not before they had spent thousands of dollars in vet bills in addition to the thousands paid for the actual sad little life.

Another organisation to contact would be LAP. It may well be worth contacting the SPCA to ask them for a list of who they think are responsible breeders in Hong Kong. However, I don't know of any who breed spoodles so you may need to look overseas.
