Hi all,
I was shown a unit at mid level west, its a walk up buidling with no security guard. The place is neat and well decorated and most importantly the rental is well within our budget. The only concern we have is the security of the building as there are no security guard and though the door is secured with passcode, its always left open by irresponsible tenants. Thus, anyone could easily access into the building.
We are new here in hk, just wondering if there is any security issues?? Yours views are very much appreciated!!

As a rule, HK is very very "safe" in comparison with Western major cities. However, of course it is not completely crime-free.
If you are really interested in the unit you could ask the landlord to supplement the door with a heavy security duty gate.
