I am trying to purchase a vehicle from a former HK resident who left HK hurredly because of an illness (they say). This person is using an escrow service company to complete the deal, as they are now back in UK. The company is called Wtust Company.
My problem is that i can never contact this company in normal UK working hours, they require payment to an individual, and not their company, but using western union for payment. The company website is full of spelling errors, hosted in the US, and they (Wtrust) claim that they are not able to contact me by email, tho the seller has no problem.
The seller "forwards' me emails from the company, but there is no detail in the forwarded email about the initial sender's details, as you would normally expect in a forwarded email. The seller is unusually curt in responses, failing to use my name, or any pleasantry one would normally expect in an email particularly when you are trying to sell something.
The vehicle is located in Shenzhen, further complicating matters. To be fair, the seller requires a deposit before sending the vehicle to me, i can reject the sale and get a full refund after 3 days. However, my suspicions are further raised, when using the tracking number supplied for the transaction ( i have not paid anything yet), the site claims that the seller has a deposit equal to the value of the vehicle, lodged with them.
Has anybody had dealings with WTrust before? How ddid the transaction proceed/ How paid etc. I would like to buy the vehicle but do not relish losing my deposit. I would be more comfortable if the vehicle was in HK physically so i could inspect it, and i would be more comfortable using PayPal or something more recogniseable for an internet transaction then sending a TT equivalent to and "authorised " person.

bogus address bogus bogus
same scammer for several different purchases of cars - all for models with a price too good to be true and a sob story about being sick and having to leave HK to return to UK
