My baby is turning 1 soon. Which website should I visit to create nice, interactive E-invitation to his birthday party? And where can I get a nice birthday cake with his favourite cartoon character? There's no one-stop shop in HK unfortunately ....

Foe e-invitations, try evite.com. For cake, there are a lot of custom cake shops such as one in Lyndhurst street called Cake a licious, in LKF called Sweet secrets. As for one-stop shop, what else do you need. Sweet Secrets also has pinata, paper plates, glasses, candles etc.

just don't forget that at one it is still quite easy to overwhelm him. We generally stick to the age+1 number of friends to invite. When my daughter was younger, one of her friends had over 100 people attend his 2nd birthday party -- mostly business chums of his father's -- and the poor birthday boy was terrified of the bouncy castle and the candles and the crowd and the presents....
just raining on your parade a bit, not intending to be as judgmental as I sound here. By four he will still want cartoon characters and party favors even if you go low-key now :)

Thanks everyone for your advice and tips. Yes, fully aware that 1st birthday parties are more for the parents actually than the baby! But still, we want a nice little party for him to remember by when he gets older. Got my birthday cake made at Complete Deelight. They make fantastic cakes and cupcakes .... not cheap thought but well, it's the 1st birthday and a good cause to celebrate the past year (+ 9 months in the womb)! Thanks all and have a lovely week.
