Some friends think I should check my Facebook every day. Whatever happened to chatting over coffee, or even phone calls? What do people consider reasonable?

It's really up to you. I know people who are on Facebook all the time, with the iPhones. I also know people who are on Facebook less than once a month.

I hide any games and such crap. And if someone posts lots and lots of crap, I hide that person.
Leaves me with the decent stuff. Updates on what my friends around the world are up to. That's the stuff I'm interested in.

I remember about 4 years ago everyone I knew was using MSN Messenger (as was). Before that Fiends Reunited. Then came myspace, then face book, then twatter, stuff on linked in, QQ, and I have been invited to at least 3 other sites.
I think it has all got so watered down. And what with free VPNs coming and going, I just can't be bothered with facebook. I get emails telling me I have 8 responses waiting on facebook. I really cannot be bothered anymore.
I guess that makes me a boring anti-social fart. I have recently gone back to meeting friends in a bar once a week for beer. Actually so much nicer than virtual socializing.

I am unfortunately a Facebook addict and check it everyday however I don't neglect face to face chat over coffee!

Once a day for me if I get the chance. Not over mobile though. Good venue to arrange to meet people for real interaction - I look at FB as a glorified group mailing list.
