Priority banking?

Do any banks in HK offer really useful benefits with their premier/elite/priority banking services? I'm not looking for things like $3 off your next order of 500 mooncakes, but for services or benefits of real value to the average expat professional. Thanks.

HSBC Premier ostensibly gives you tools to easily move money around different HSBC banks in different countries. Haven't tried it.

The only advantage I have seen so far with having Advance (the middle level) is using the short Advance line the 1-2 times per year I am in the branch. Oh yeah, Premier gets to sit down in nice chairs.

I use standard chartered Priority Banking. You get to sit in a chair while waiting for a teller, pay no (or very low) fees for bank services (as long as your balance > $1M), and have a banker to call on when you need something.

I find it makes a difference when things go wrong and you need help; e.g. waive late fees & interest when I forgot to pay by credit card one month.

If you get off on swanning over to an 'exclusive' queue/room and need a coffee and chair while you're waiting, then HSBC Premier could be for you. However, if you require a personal banker who is proactive without being pushy, understands your requirements, and is available during normal office hours to carry out time-sensitive transactions then you may find it somewhat wanting.
