Presents delivered to HK from England?

Hi All,

I am spending my first Christmas in Hong Kong having always gone back to the UK previously. I am looking for a reliable way to get presents sent from home as lots of the department stores in London don't deliver here and Amazon has so many restrictions.

Thanks all,

Lyds

Hey Lyds, Two HK guys have set up a British luxury goods co, www.applebyparva.com, which has nice, traditional UK gifts and ships from their base in London to HK in 4 days with VAT free prices. I just used and they were very helpful. Maybe give them a go? Debs (using my hubbys login - naughty!)

HI. Yes, Amazon doesn't like sending things to Hong Kong unless it's a bog standard paperback size parcel. For anything you're looking for, don't forget to check eBay. Most sellers don't mind where they send things to (aside from some in the US who don't trust anything outside their national borders) and the UK sellers tend not to charge rip-off postage & handling costs. Good luck.

Hi there - good timing on your reply. Just had a delivery from appleby parva following the recommendation above. Seriously quick and efficient, smartly wrapped and really happy. Lyds

For books, you want www.bookdepository.co.uk - free air mail to HK! Last week's order is here already, amazing.

borderlinx.com

Buy it online in the UK and ship it to them. They'll bundle and ship to HK.

Just be aware that they do not always ship based on weight, they use volume under certain circumstances.

You could always look in M&S Queens Rd for gifts, they always have a nice selection near Christmas

M & S online delivers to HK for GBP15 (I think they take off the VAT). You get more choice and if you're ordering a lot then it can work out much cheaper this way than actually buying it here.

M&S and Dorothy Perkins etc and a few more all delivers to HK for a fixed fee, around 10 pounds and independent of weight. As a result I cannot resist ordering things and ended up with lots of useless stuff and things I have to send back, not exactly environmentally friendly.
