Moving from the US, will our TV work?

We have a flat screen Sharp Aquos (model # LC-42D62U) that's about 3 years old. Does anyone know if it will work on the HK system? My husband's company is paying for the shipping of our things, so we'd like to bring it if it will work. I've looked over the manual & I can't figure it out.

This TV seems to have an NTSC tuner only.


There was a thread a few days ago about someone having the same problem, you could look it up.


But basically, without a PAL tuner, you won't be able to watch TV here.

You can always try to contact customer support to make sure it isn't PAL compatible.

As unclefrank says.


Many newer flats can handle both PAL and NTSC, but not all.


Check the manual. Under specifications if it says it supports "PAL" you're ok.
