We are moving our family to Clearwater Bay and would like to transfer the children to KGV School (they are already in another Secondary ESF School). When submitting our application for transfer, we were told that the waiting list for transfers to KGV is two years long! I realise that all ESF schools are terribly over subscribed at the moment but two years for kids already in the ESF system seems a very long time. Am wondering whether this is the standard response KGV gives all parents or whether it is actually true! Welcome any views from people who have had experience with this. Thanks.

You are correct they are all over subscribed. As the exam results year on year are more and more outstanding, demand is very high. In regards to KGV I think their response to you could well be correct. Don't forget there are only two ESF Schools Kowloon side so that may well be the reason.
