Charity doesn't seem to be big here. There doesn't seem to be a system for it like in AU or USA where you can ring up the Salvation Army (or equivalent) to donate. People seem to trash or sell stuff. Even old clothes get recycled instead of donated.

Let me know if you do find somewhere.

You're right that there doesn't seem to be a centralized system where you can donate all of your stuff, but you can donate clothes, electrical and computer items and household furniture - it just takes a bit of coordinating. All the things you donate are listed as going to different charities around Hong Kong.

Here is some info on donating for each category (they sometimes call it 'recycling' but actually the things are usually just donated if they can be reused):

Clothes: https://www.wastereduction.gov.hk/apps/vicinity_result.jsp?collection_type=clothes&material_type=all&district_id=0&view=Go&textonly=0

Electrical/Computer items: https://www.wastereduction.gov.hk/en/workplace/weee_collection_points.htm

Household furniture, etc.: https://www.wastereduction.gov.hk/apps/vicinity_result.jsp?collection_type=outlet&material_type=col_instituation&district_id=0

Good luck with Crossroads.I contacted them in early September regarding donation of some furniture, computer,tv etc and after follow-ups with photos, they told me they will collect after 13th Nov.On the 15th I emailed them for a follow up and no they are not collecting cos the voluteer who told me so does not know what she's doing.I'm relocating to new premises on the 29th and now I have to to reorganise my plans for the above goods. If you do contact them just make sure their right hand knows what the left hand does !!!
