Most ski resorts I have been to have a limited selection at inflated prices. Landsend deliver to Hong Kong www.landsend.com

Speaking from experience (born and raised in Sweden), the classic "yellow" Timberland shoe is just fine for playing in the snow if you combine it with some good thick socks. They have a completely waterproof lining and stay nice and warm.

Kids should have waterproof "snow" trousers that cover the shoes down to the angle and also cover far above the waist (integral suspender models work well), and a jacket that goes gives good overlap.. If they are under 5 a strap that goes under the shoes is a good idea. Even better are coveralls.

Stanley market has these both for children and adults. The store at the end of the street with Delifrance.

Otherwise I'd tend to agree with Green-Catalonia. Buy where the snow is. Those guys know what they are doing.

I saw some "moon boots" at Lane Crawford discount store at Horizon Plaza about a week ago.
