hello! im looking for some updated positive reinforcement and/or referrals for a really good western hairstylist for BLONDE COLORING...
ive been living in china for 4 years - im still recovering from a hair-disaster from my first year here. i found an amazing stylist i was going to in beijing, but he went back to france. boo. but, i live in guangzhou so im hopin' to find someone in hk this time. any advice would be fantastic because i have put this off for too long, my roots are now beginning to eat my face. i cant take it any longer. message me or reply here~ thanks yall!

? umm.. i used to fly to bj for my stylist so i dont mind taking the 2 hour train to hk. im in guangzhou, the ride to hk is quick and painless. i do it often just for one or two days of shopping, just for fun but don't know the city well, i dont know any blondes there, and never needed hair help before. hence my inquiry, did you read it?

Lorraine at O2 Salon on Wyndham Street in Central is good for blondes. She also really listens to what you want, which is a good trait in a hairdresser, in my opinion.

Yes! communication is very important to me too. After a quick google I found more positive comments about a Lorraine in hk, seems certain to be referring to the same stylist - and these other posts from other sites are from a few years back.
With your current reinforcement I feel better about givin it a whirl. This exactly the kind of advice I need. Thank you SO much for your reply deliran!

You're welcome. After some bad experiences with stylists who had no idea how to cut and colour blonde curly hair, I finally learned about Lorraine from Asiaxpat, so I'm just returning the favour. I'm pretty sure that the comments you've read are about the same 'Lorraine' - she's been at O2 for a few years. She's great - you'll be in good hands.

I see someone already mentioned a stylist at O2 on Wyndham, but that is where I go as well. My stylist is Robbie. I have did blond highlights with Robbie since I arrived in HK about 5 years ago. But just a few months ago I got tired of the blond and switched to red--Robbie did a great job--lots of compliments on my hair. I am sure Lorraine is good too, but just wanted to give another choice.

I recommend going to The Hairdressers on Stanley Street Central. Ask for Darrin - he is from Australia but has been in HK for over 10 years and has a lot of experience working with blonde hair. Number is 29730512. He will listen to you and know exactly what you want. I have been going to him for over 3 years. Since he's based in HK it's unlikely you will lose him! Good luck!
