ESF Admission

I am planning for admission in ESF for my Child next year - Oct 2011.

When do we need to apply for admission ?

What care do we need to take ?

Any special guidelines ??

ESF has a specific month where you apply for admission for the following year. This has already been and gone. (October 2010) Are you looking for kindergarten, Primary or College. I applied for kindergarten for my daughter and have already had a letter stating that we have an interview. There was apparently 180 applications for only 88 places thank goodness we were one of the lucky ones (only sent out letters to ones confirmed a place)


What I suggest you do is you contact the school you are interested in and ask about waiting lists and possibly getting onto the interview lists. Most of the interviews are Jan so I would ring them on Monday when they are back at school. Also ESF starts in August/Sept not October. My daughter will not be 3 when she starts but ESF just goes with every child born in 2008 starts in August 2011 at kindergarten.

I have a 4 year old, by the summer he will be 5. I'm not in HK yet, but planning on getting there on July-August...Any ideas if they would take him after the school year has started?

The school year doesn't start until late August. In any case given the transient nature of expat life international schools here take students more or less all the time.


I would contact them now and ask how to apply. They do take late applications.
